The mining, logging, and construction industry showed an increase in employment with 35.4 thousand workers in March 2023, observing the construction industry solely also saw a slight rise in employment with 34.8 thousand workers. The manufacturing industry remained stable with 83.3 thousand workers, while the trade, transportation, and utilities industry employed 185 thousand workers, slightly lower than the previous month.
Within the professional and business services industry, administrative services employed 82.8 thousand workers, while professional, scientific, and technical services employed 41.5 thousand workers. The educational and health services industry remained stable with 124.4 thousand workers.
The leisure and hospitality industry saw a slight increase in employment with 92.2 thousand workers in March 2023. The government industry also showed a slight increase in employment, with 199.1 thousand workers in March 2023.
